Vulva Gazing: A New Moon Ritual

A virtual community gathering on October’s new moon to explore our vulvas, release shame, & reclaim our S.E.L.F. (sexually embodied life force).

Many people with vulvas are socialized to view our bodies with disdain, disgust, and discomfort. We are taught to view "down there" as dirty. We internalize this shame and remain disconnected from our power.

We can heal in commmunity and learn to love the skin we're in.

In this virtual workshop, we will:

  • ground in the virtual space

  • briefly review societal impacts on knowing and loving our vulvas

  • gaze at our vulvas in the comfort of our own space (we will NOT display our vulvas at any point of the gathering)

  • engage in honest and vulnerable dialogue about our vulvas

  • journal

  • reclaim our S.E.L.F. (sexually embodied life force)

This space is exclusively for women and femmes, particularly Black, Brown, Indigenous, women of color.

Items needed to participate:

  • handheld mirror

  • journal

  • curiosity

  • courage

FAQs:

Is this open to anyone? No. This space is exclusively for women and femmes, and is centered on women of color. No cis-gender men are allowed.

Will we be showing our vulvas to one another? No. Our cameras will focus only on our faces. Anyone showing more than that will be asked to leave the gathering.

Is this for all ages? This is for women and femmes ages 18-99.

Why is this being held on a new moon? On 10/10, we will have a new moon. This New Moon in the sign of Libra starts a good cycle in which to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Scales. It also is a good time to make important life changes - in other words, a GREAT time to learn to love S.E.L.F.

Will this be recorded? No. Due to the nature of the gathering, this is not recorded.
