It's June 1 - PRIDE season. And Target ain't alone in its B.S. Non-profits can suck, too (video)
Many of us step in to the role of executive Director (ED) because we feel deeply passionate about serving our communities and bringing the organization’s vision to fruition. We want to be good - good at our job, good humans, and good accomplices in the struggle for our collective liberation. For many (I wish I could say *most* of us - but I would be lying) of us who are white or non-Black people of color, we are also passionate about unpacking ways we benefit from and perpetuate white supremacist, patriarchal capitalism.
You KNOW though that being passionate about it ain’t enough. We have to remain committed to being on this learning, healing, and atoning journey every single day.
But HOW? What does that even look like? That ED Life can be really lonely and isolating- not exactly the best atmosphere for learning and growth.
I offer 1:1 and group support for white and non-Black EDs who are committed to interrogating, healing, and being accountable for ways we uphold patriarchal, white supremacist capitalism. I can work alongside you as you explore deep-seated beliefs, unpack personal views, embody centered accountability, and release shame so that you can lead with authenticity, courage, transparency, and humility. You don’t have to do this alone. In fact, you must not. Let me help you in creating and embarking on a committed and passionate practice to self, to community, and our collective liberation.
